Our mission

The mission of My English is to provide a safe, welcoming, and relaxed space where non-native speakers can build speaking confidence, improve practical fluency, and connect with others in their community.

  • Learn

Pick up useful words and phrases for everyday life in Edenbridge.

  • Speak

Practise out loud with people who listen kindly and patiently.

  • Connect

Share your story, your culture and your food with new friends.

  • Grow

Leave each week a little more confident than when you arrived.

What we do

  • Build Confidence

Help learners overcome the fear of speaking and feel calmer in social settings.

  • Encourage Fluency

Focus on natural conversation and sharing ideas, not on perfect grammar.

  • Foster Community

Reduce isolation and help newcomers and refugees build local friendships.

  • Support Daily Life

Practical language for shopping, work, school and local appointments.

How we treat each other

  • Inclusivity & Belonging

All backgrounds, cultures and levels are welcome, equally.

  • Mutual Respect

Every voice matters. We listen and we do not interrupt.

  • Patience & Empathy

Take your time to find your words. There is no rush here.

  • Safe, Non-Judgmental

Mistakes are part of learning, never something to correct harshly.

  • Cultural Curiosity

We love hearing about your traditions, food and celebrations.

Come along

Your first cup of tea is waiting

You do not need to book, pay, or speak perfect English. Come as you are — we will help you find your words.
